LAST CALL SALE.

Monday, November 24th, 2008

For you NYers, you’re in luck…. come Black Friday, we’re doing one last big sale to end the year. Some of you might remember our crazy sale last year at our NY office right before Christmas.  Instead of doing one later on in December this year, this sale is going to be it from us so don’t miss out! General prices are listed on the flyer above, but if you come by the sale you’ll find some special promotions that are not mentioned above. Stop by and say hello - we promise it’ll be a little less nuts than all the other craziness that ensues on Black Friday, and you’ll probably find some great deals for yourself and your friends.

SNOBS.

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Yesterday I had lunch with David and Jeff from Highsnobiety. David hails from Geneva and Jeff is a Boston native, but they’re both spending a month working out of NYC to spend valuable face time with the brands they report on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Before we got some eats, I stopped by their gorgeous office space on Mercer Street in Soho:

It’s pretty hard to drag David away from his computer.

Jeff contributes regularly to HighSnob, but his primary focus is writing for their contemporary fashion site Selectism. In a short amount of time, it’s risen to the top as one of the best sources for original news on not only clothing and footwear but also design and anything else that catches their eye (case in point).

I enjoy spending time with David and Jeff as they always have insightful opinions to share not only on the direction of 3sixteen (from an outsider’s point of view) but on the industry as a whole. I leave our meetings both motivated and invigorated. Thanks guys.

LA POP UP SHOP.

Friday, November 14th, 2008

With all the work that went into developing the Fall/Holiday 2008 line, we wanted to make sure that everyone had ample opportunity to view the collection in its entirety. Thus, not only will you be able to buy archived goods at discounted prices at the Reed Annex, but you will also be able to peruse and purchase the current Fall 2008 line. While Andrew and the New York team was working hard to get the Reed Annex ready, I have been in LA making sure that our faithful Southern California supporters were not forgotten. What better venue to display our entire line than at El Mercado, one of our longest standing accounts.

In a collaborative effort with Ian Lashley, owner of El Mercado, we conceptualized and built out a custom section of the store using a balanced mix of wood and steel; eye lines are varied with floating shelves and pieces individually hung from cables. The entire line will be stocked and restocked at El Mercado throughout the Holiday season. If you’re in the LA area, stop by to touch, examine, and try on all the pieces you’ve been eyeing.

reed

The folks at The Reed Space have been strong partners in the growth and progression of our brand for some time now. As designers, we need input at the retail level to know what’s performing well and how customers are reacting to our line from season to season, and our close working relationship with them has helped us immensely. A year ago, we moved into their neighborhood directly across the street from them. We’re glad that our office/bench has become an occasional respite from their daily grind, and we in turn swing by often to talk shop and steal Vice magazines.

Nico (Reed/Staple) approached me a few weeks ago with the idea to put together a pop up shop in the Reed Annex, a separate space next door to Reed on the Orchard Street side that is currently used to sell merchandise from previous seasons at a discount. We happily agreed to partner up on the space, and will be officially opening up there from November 13th through the 23rd. The shop will be open 7 days a week: 1pm-7pm on weekdays and noon-7pm on weekends. I’ll be back with some photos of the pop up shop later this week.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Our friends at Extra Butter in Long Island sent us a care package, which arrived this morning.

It turned out to be a custom bag they made for Halloween filled with theater candy (in keeping with their movie & film themed boutique). Cheers, guys.
