15y: Chup for 3sixteen.
For our 15 year anniversary, we've teamed up with Tokyo-based CHUP socks to create a brand new sock collaboration: the fourth in our ongoing partnership. We've loved working with them over the years because of their love of craft and great attention to detail; every pattern is designed in house, and no pattern or colorway is ever repeated in their lineup, which is pretty insane when you think about it. Our 15y sock is built off an original CHUP mid-century pattern that we’re calling “Pineapple Forest.” What’s unique about this pattern is how cushy the feel of the sock is: it massages the foot as it’s worn. You'll know what we mean as soon as you put them on for the first time.
Due to the nature of the knit pattern, we find that "Pineapple Forest" has far more stretch and recovery than other styles we’ve made in the past with CHUP. There is little to no shrinkage in the wash and dryer as well. We designed the first style using various shades of solid and marled indigo yarns to create a colorway with depth and complexity that will age well as it's worn. The second style features burgundy yarns as the central color, linking up nicely with our Red Plaid Crosscut Flannel from this season.
The 15y Chup for 3sixteen socks are now available via retailers worldwide. Look for them to launch on 3sixteen.com on Friday, December 7th at noon EST; they'll be available in our LA flagship store on the same day. Each pair retails for $35 and is made in Japan.
